Heavyweights to ignite Victorian football season

Bentleigh Greens and South Melbourne will kick off Football Federation Victoria's 2017 season by contesting the FFV Community Shield on Thursday 2 February at Kingston Heath.

Bentleigh Greens face South Melbourne as Reagan Milstein Foundation returns as Community Shield Partner. The Reagan Milstein Foundation has returned as the official presenting partner for the third edition of the annual contest.

South Melbourne qualified as PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria champions and Bentleigh Greens as Dockerty Cup winners.

The Reagan Milstein Foundation aims to raise funds to offer financial and moral support to Australian youngsters who may not have the opportunity or financial resources to play sport or be involved in a sports club.

Bentleigh Greens defeated South Melbourne 3-0 in last season's Community Shield, while the teams split their PS4 NPL Victoria league contests one win each during the season. Bentleigh also defeated South Melbourne 4-0 in the seventh round of Victorian Westfield FFA Cup qualifying.

FFV will donate all profit from the match to the Reagan Milstein Foundation.
