PS4 NPL WA Round 9 Review

A last minute goal by Feisal Zaw earned Balcatta a 2-1 win over crosstown rivals Stirling Lions at Macedonia Park on Saturday.

The visitors recovered their form against a Stirling outfit who started proceedings on the back of a six-game winning streak.

Balcatta coach Marc Anthony was delighted with the result.

“It’s a tough place to come, they’ve been on fire recently, and we knew they would be a big threat,” he said.

“Credit to all the lads, we’re a very young playing group and we just kept going.”

Leaders Inglewood United continued an impressive start to their season with a 2-1 win over Subiaco at Rosalie Park.

Perth SC and Cockburn City shared the points after a 1-1 draw at a stormy Dorrien Gardens.

Bayswater City maintained the pressure on the league-leaders after a 1-0 win against a ten-men ECU Joondalup at ECU Football Stadium, while substitute Todd Harnwell scored a late winner in Sorrento’s 1-0 victory of Armadale at Alfred Skeet Reserve.
