PS4 NPL WA Round 3 Review

Perth SC moved to the top of PlayStation 4 NPL WA on goal difference with a 2-0 win over Stirling Lions at Macedonia Park on Saturday.

Goals from Nicholas Ambrogio and Gustavo Catarcione in the opening 20 minutes got them off to a flying start and they never looked back in a fixture dedicated to the late Dylan Tombides.

Stirling threatened briefly before the break but the visitors remained resolute throughout and were comfortable in recording a third win in as many matches this season.

Perth midfielder Dean Evans said it was important that his side came out of the blocks quickly.

“We spoke about starting quickly at training and we did that today, which put us in the box seat,” he said.

“It was a good start and it put us in good stead. We defended really well as a team and made it difficult for them to create many chances.”

Meanwhile, Inglewood United extended their impressive start to the season with a 1-0 win over a youthful Perth Glory.

Floreat Athena striker Lewis McMahon bagged a hat-trick on his return to the PS4 NPLWA to help his side to a 4-3 win against Armadale at Alfred Skeet Reserve.

Balcatta earned their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against a 10-man Sorrento at Percy Doyle Reserve.

Bayswater City managed to seal three points against Cockburn City with a 3-1 win at Dalmatinac Park.

ECU Joondalup put on a five-star show to down Subiaco 5-2 at ECU Joondalup Stadium.
