PS4 NPL WA Round 23 Review

Bayswater City came back from 2-0 down at half time to claim a 3-2 victory over Perth Glory at Ashfield Arena in Round 23 of PlayStation 4 NPL WA.

The win takes Bayswater to third place in the league table where they sit one point behind leaders Inglewood United with three rounds remaining.

Perth Glory took the lead early through Brandon Wilson before Michael Domfeh quickly added another goal that stunned Bayswater, who were favourites going into the match.

Bayswater came out firing in the second half and were level thanks to goals from Luka Ninkovic and Todd Howarth before Trent Kay’s powerful header completed the comeback in the 86th minute.

Bayswater coach Chris Coyne was delighted with the comeback and a victory that kept alive his side’s title ambitions.

“Their endeavour, their desire, and the team spirit was fantastic. I couldn’t fault any of them today,” he said.

“It’s up to us - we just have to keep winning games and focus on ourselves.”

Perth Glory coach John Gibson felt his team lost belief in the second half.

“The first half was really competitive but I don’t think we believed we were good enough in the second half and that killed us,” he said.
