PS4 NPL Victoria Review: Round 25

A late Robbie Zadworny strike has seen Melbourne Knights temporarily move up into second place on the PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria ladder after a 2-0 victory over Pascoe Vale at CB Smith Reserve.

Knights top two aspirations live on

Both teams were toothless in the first half, before Zadworny beat Alexander Pavlidis with 10 mintues to play, whilst Luke Jurcic rounded things off in injury time when he slotted home.

Last gasp penalty puts Werribee in box seat

Werribee City secured a priceless 1-0 victory away to Oakleigh Cannons on Friday night as the PS4 NPL Victoria relegation battle intensifies ahead of the final round next week.

Simon Colosimo’s 95th minute penalty sealed the three points for the Bees as they moved out of the automatic relegation spots and into twelfth place on the ladder.

Gully clinical against Sharks

A clinical Green Gully outfit has defeated a depleted Port Melbourne side by two goals to nil on a wet and cold JL Murphy Reserve on Friday night.

With both sides opening the game with intent, it was Gully who took the advantage just before half time courtesy of a fantastic drive from star mid-season signing Liam Boland before Matthew Breeze bundled home early in the second to Give Gully the win.

Magnificent seven for South Melbourne

South Melbourne crushed Avondale FC 7-0 at Avondale Heights Reserve on Saturday afternoon in the penultimate round of PS4 NPL Victoria. 

Two own goals in the first half, credited to Jeff Fleming and Michele Crazia respectively, had South Melbourne up 2-0 at the break.

A five goal second half, which included a brace to Milos Lujic, as well as goals to Nick Epifano, Iqi Jawadi and substitute Andy Kecojevic rounded out the comprehensive victory.

Bentleigh hold top with late winner

A late Troy Ruthven header gave Bentleigh Greens all three points against Northcote City in PS4 NPL Victoria at John Cain Memorial Park on Saturday.

The win keeps Bentleigh (played 25, 55 points, +23 goal difference) top of the table and ahead of South Melbourne (P24, 52 PTS, +30) albeit with the latter getting the chance to go top when it plays its catch-up game on Wednesday night.

Thunder relegated after North Geelong Warriors defeat

NORTH Geelong ran out convincing 3-0 winners against Dandenong Thudner on Saturday in a result that relegated the Thunder from PS4 NPL Victoria.

North Geelong's hopes for survival from automatic relegation continue for another week.

A first half goal by teenager Nikola Jurkovic and a second half double by Gareth Richards propelled the Warriors to third last on the ladder, setting up a final round showdown with second last placed Werribee City next Sunday.

Hume hotshots halt Heidelberg

Hume City prevailed 2-0 winners on Sunday evening as they defeated Heidelberg in a tight contest at Olympic Park.

An action packed second half of football saw goals from Marcus Shroen and Theo Markelis which was enough to secure the three points for the visitors.
