Hume City continued its recent momentum beating Dandenong Thunder 3-1 at ABD Stadium on a cold Friday night. 

New Hume recruit Daniel Chabaani opened the scoring, not long after he was joined on the score sheet by teammate Paul Harvey.

Heffernan double silences South

On his return to the stating line-up, Daniel Heffernan opened the scoring early on for the visitors before Milos Lujic equalised for South shortly before half time.

As it seemed the match was headed for a draw, Heffernan again popped up deep into second half stoppage time to score his second and the winner.

Oakleigh shares spoils with Port

Despite taking the lead just after half time, Oakleigh Cannons was unable to defeat an out-of-form Port Melbourne outfit at Jack Edwards Reserve on Friday night. 

With the visitors on a five-game losing streak, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for Arthur Papas’ men to continue their mid-season resurgence on a chilly night in Melbourne.

Northcote makes it back-to-back wins

Northcote City has secured back-to-back wins with a 3-1 victory over Avondale FC at Avondale Heights Reserve on Saturday afternoon. 

Aaron Ward opened the scoring for the visitors before Calvin Mbarga doubled their advantage. 

Mat Sanders pegged one back for Avondale midway through the second half before Northcote sealed the win when James Kalifatidis converted from the penalty spot.

Gully four stuns Greens

A stunning performance from Green Gully saw the side upset Bentleigh Greens 4-0 at Green Gully Reserve on Saturday afternoon.

A brace from Liam Boland either side of halftime led the way, with second half goals from Simon Tolli and Evan Christodoulou completing the rout.

Pascoe Vale has secured a vital victory in its attempts to bring finals football to CB Smith Reserve for the first time, after a 2-0 victory over North Geelong Warriors.

The visitors now find themselves deep within the relegation zone, and unless a immediate turnaround comes their way, a return to NPL 1 next season is looking increasingly likely.

Knights pile on Bees' misery

Melbourne Knights compounded Werribee's relegation worries by beating the side 5-1 at Knights Stadium.

The Knights had five different goalscorers, with Stipo Andrijasevic, Ivan Grgic, Robbie Zadworny, Rodrigo Covarrubias and James McGarry getting on the scoresheet, while Dean Tomeski netted a scant consolation for the visitors.
