Silky Avondale sinks Port Melbourne

A dominant second half performance from Avondale FC has resulted in a resounding 3-0 victory over an out-of-form Port Melbourne side at JL Murphy Reserve on Friday night.

Having seen two goals disallowed by the referee in the first half, along with a missed penalty from Francesco Stella, the visiting Avondale turned on the style, scoring three second half goals along with Port skipper Shaun Kelly being sent off for the second time this season.

Three braces too many as Gully put six past Thunder

Green Gully has boosted its survival hopes with a massive 6-1 win over Dandenong Thunder at Green Gully Reserve on Saturday afternoon.

Braces to Matthew Breeze, Alon Blumgart and Liam Boland were too much for Dandenong Thunder who could only manage a sole consolation goal via Veton Korcari late in the contest.

Paco strolls to come-from-behind win over Northcote City

Pascoe Vale has earned three points on the road, defeating Northcote City 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at John Cain Memorial Park.

Despite going behind early thanks to a Jonathan Bounas strike, Paco slammed home three unanswered goals to seal the victory.

Hegarty leads Hume to crucial win over Oakleigh

Hume City has nabbed all three points in a 1-0 win against Oakleigh Cannons on a cold winter night at ABD Stadium.

Hume captain Nick Hegarty sealed the points in the 62nd minute with a strong finish after a lovely lofted pass from midfielder Marcus Schroen.

Knights dispatch of Warriors with first half double

Melbourne Knights have comfortably defeated sister club North Geelong Warriors 2-0 at Knights Stadium on Sunday to take out the Stipe Tabak Cup.

Coming off a heavy defeat to Oakleigh last week, the Knights did their damage in the first half as goals from Stipo Andrijasevic and Chris Talajic proved the difference.

South holds off late Werribee surge to win

South Melbourne has held off a late surge from Werribee City to secure a 1-0 victory at Lakeside Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

South dominated the majority of the scrappy affair, but Werribee came excruciatingly close to stealing a point in the dying minutes of the match.
