Oakleigh Cannons have moved within touching distance of the top six after a resounding 4-1 victory over the Melbourne Knights at Jack Edwards Reserve.

The Knights were made to pay for a series of defensive blunders as a brace to Mirjan Pavlovic, as well as strikes to Goran Zoric and Dusan Bosnjak, cancelled out Andrew Barisic’s opener.

Northcote nabs win over Hume City

Northcote City is back to winning ways, claiming a 3-1 victory at home to fifth-placed Hume City on a warm Saturday afternoon at John Cain Memorial Park. 

The goals came in the second half with Northcote grabbing first two with Jacob Eliopoulos and Calvin Mbarga, before Theo Markelis got one back for Hume. James Kalifatidis put the game beyond doubt in the 92nd minute.

Green Gully gives North Geelong second win of the season as bogey continues

North Geelong Warriors have recorded only their second win of the season, overcoming Green Gully in a hard fought yet thoroughly absorbing battle at Elcho Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors’ only other victory this year was against a helpless Gully in Round 3.

Unlike that particular fixture, which saw the Warriors annihilate Gully 6-1, the only goal of today’s scrappy clash came in the 11th minute, courtesy of a Reardo Luka wonder strike.

Avondale and Pascoe Vale have played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon in Round 16 of NPL Victoria.

In a match of few chances, neither side could clinch the all important three points.

South Melbourne weathers Dandenong Thunder storm

South Melbourne temporarily went top of the table after surviving Dandenong Thunder's onslaught at George Andrews Reserve on Saturday night.

Depsite a 25-point gap between the two sides, it was Thunder who dominated the game.

It was an all-too-familiar story for the hosts who were beaten in similar fashion by the same scoreline in August last year.

Bentleigh stays top with convincing win over Werribee

Bentleigh Greens SC has maintained top spot on the PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria table after a 3-1 victory over Werribee City at Galvin Park on Sunday afternoon.

Ryan De Vries netted twice either side of the interval with Jamie De Abreu adding a third for the Greens before Robert Naumoski pulled one back from the spot for the hosts.

Cartanos wonder strike seals Heidelberg win over Port

A wonder strike from Andrew Cartanos has seen a dominant Heidelberg United claim a deserved three points against Port Melbourne at Olympic Village on Sunday night.

Having completely dominated in a scoreless first half, the Bergers went behind after a goal against the run of play from Alec Goodwin just after half time, before stunning strikes from both Reuben Way and then Andrew Cartanos sealed the victory for George Katsakis’s men.
