Bentleigh sneaks past resilient North Geelong

Bentleigh Greens came, saw and conquered Elcho Park on Saturday afternoon, running out 1-0 winners at game’s end but not before a solid, hard fought duel with bottom side North Geelong.

The Warriors lived up to their name and took it right up to the high flying Greens, with the only goal of the game coming in the 48th minute, courtesy of Matthew Thurtell amidst much controversy.

Tomic goal on return steals Dandy a point from Werribee

Dandenong Thunder and Werribee City have played out a pulsating 2-2 draw at George Andrews Reserve on Saturday night.

New signings James Goulopoulos and Archie Tomic made immediate impacts at their new club with debut goals as did Deng Aguek of Werribee with veteran Simon Colosimo also getting on the scoresheet.

Debutant's delight as Northcote defeats Gully

A first half burst from Northcote City FC led them to a 3-1 win over Green Gully SC at John Cain Memorial Park on Sunday.

Calvin Mbarga, Jordan Wilkes and a spot-kick from Marino Gasparis were too much for a 15th minute goal from Gully’s Hakeem Aloraibi.

Bergers go top temporarily after away win at Paco

Heidelberg secured top spot temporarily on Friday night, prevailing 2-1 winners over Pascoe Vale at CB Smith Reserve. 

A Daniel Heffernan double was enough to secure the three points for Heidelberg despite a second half goal from Paco’s Adrian Talarico.

Avondale, Knights play out scoreless draw

Avondale FC and Melbourne Knights have played out a scoreless draw at Doyle St on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams had chances to score a telling goal, particularly in the second half, but neither could break the stalemate as the points were ultimately shared.

Plucky Hume drowns Port Melbourne with comeback win

Hume City has recorded an important victory with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Port Melbourne at JL Murphy Reserve on Friday night.

An opener from Kamal Ibrahim in the 54thminute was not enough for the hosts as new signings Theo Markelis and Paul Harvey struck to send Louie Acevski’s men home with the three points.
