PS4 NPL Victoria Grand Final Review

A Marcus Schroen double has handed South Melbourne their second title in three years.

South Melbourne has won the 2016 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Victoria Grand Final after a 3-2 win over Oakleigh Cannons at Lakeside Stadium.

Schroen scored a second half double to seal the championship for South Melbourne, winning the Jimmy Rooney medal for being the man of the match.

Leigh Minopoulos had earlier given South the lead in the first half before Dean Piemonte thumped home a rebound to equalise for Oakleigh.

The Cannons did have a late rally, Dusan Bosnjak finishing well to grab a consolation goal.

In the earlier match, Kingston City came back from 2-0 down to defeat St Albans Saints 3-2, taking home the NPL 2 Championship.

Slaven Vranesevic came off the bench to score two wonderful free kicks, after Rodrigo Covarubbias had put the Saints ahead and Rowan McNamee pulled one back for Kingston.
