PS4 NPL Tasmania Round 11 Preview

Round 11 of PlayStation 4 NPL Tasmania is upon us as we cross into the second half of the season and begin the race to the finish line.

It will be a week that has major ramifications on the table and a number of sides are facing defining contests in an intriguing set of fixtures.

The round kicks off on Friday night with an Olympia side suddenly in desperate need of a win hosting the Kingborough Lions. Sitting just a week out from the Lakoseljac Cup final, the Warriors simply must steady in this one after their humiliation at the hands of South Hobart last week. It suddenly looks a far more challenging proposition than it did a week ago, following the Lions backs to the wall victory over the Zebras.

They set up their stall to defend, put plenty of bodies behind the ball and blunted the Zebras attack in a superb defensive display. On a ground at Warrior Park that is smaller and easier to defend on, you’d have to expect the same approach in this one from Broadbent’s men.

Certainly if Olympia were to drop points here alarm bells would have to be ringing with the cup final just a week away, but expecting anything other than a Warriors victory would seem an overreaction to one weeks worth of results, versus an entire seasons worth of performances. Whilst it was a poor performance, breaking down a likely bus parking from the Lions is a very different proposition to the blitzkrieg South unleashed upon them.

The Warriors still have the firepower to score goals, their problems are at the back, so it will be tough to see the Lions holding out for another 90 minutes, regardless of how immense they were last Friday.
