PS4 NPL South Australia: Week 1 Finals Review

Both West Torrens Birkalla and Adelaide City continued their Finals Series run last weekend after edging out their opposition on penalties, while Adelaide Blue Eagles and West Adelaide fought out a 1-1 draw at Marden Sports Complex.

Julian Torresan put in an exceptional captains performance as West Torrens Birkalla edged Campbelltown City 5-4 on penalties in Friday night’s elimination semi final at Adelaide Shores Football Centre.

Both sides didn’t shy away from their attacking nature when the match commenced, also taking an attacking mindset to their defence with both sides pressing high.

Adelaide City edged out last year’s Grand Final winners Croydon Kings 3-1 on penalties in an elimination final in the PlayStation 4 National Premier League South Australia after the match ended 1-1 all in extra time at Polonia Reserve last Saturday night. 

Steven Pepper handed the home side the lead in the first half with Lewis Farquhar providing the equaliser midway through the second half.

West Adelaide holds a slight advantage over Adelaide Blue Eagles after a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Major Semi Final in the PlayStation 4 National Premier League South Australia at Marden Sports Complex on Saturday.

Kym Harris converted an early penalty to put the home side ahead, but Tom Briscoe’s equaliser gives West the away goals edge.
