PS4 NPL SA Round 2 Review

After a disappointing home loss in Round 1, West Torrens Birkalla rebounded in impressive fashion in the second weekend of the PlayStation 4 NPL South Australia 2016 Season.

Campbelltown City v South Adelaide

In hot repressive conditions the “Strain” was on show in more ways than one for a disappointing South Adelaide against a rampant Campbelltown City at Steve Woodcock Sports Centre on Saturday evening.

Campbelltown City’s Tom Strain had a day out collecting a hat trick along the way in helping his new teammates crush the Panthers 5-0.

Adelaide Comets v Croydon Kings

Adelaide Comets came out of Friday nights encounter against Croydon Kings with a 3-2 win in a fiery contest which saw both sides reduced to 10 men.

It was a tense opening to Round 2 of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League South Australia with 4 out of the 5 goals coming from dead ball situations, while Comets’ Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and Croydon’s Nick Munro were both given straight red cards.

Evan Kostopoulos had a double and Oliver Zafridis added a third for the home side, while Captain Luke Klimek and Rocky Visconte got on the score sheet for the visitors.

Adelaide United v West Torrens Birkalla

West Torrens Birkalla celebrated a 3-1 win over Adelaide United in Round 2 of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League South Australia. 

"It was a good show of character from the team, especially after last week's wake up call. We turned it around, and it was very important to get our first three points early," says Julian Torresan, Goal-Keeper and Captain of Birkalla.

If you were watching, you better have found an early seat because Paul Radice showed up with a goal just five minutes in, setting the tone for a short-fused cracker of a game.
