The race to this year’s PlayStation 4 NPL South Australia Grand Final goes into overdrive this weekend when Campbelltown City welcome the boys from West Torrens Birkalla in the Preliminary Final.
We have arrived to the penultimate game of the season, and the pairing of two evenly matched sides.
Campbelltown, coming off two Major Semi-Final losses to Premier Adelaide City in as many weeks, will be looking to get back in the winner’s circle and give themselves another crack against Premiership favourite the Black & Whites, in next week’s Grand Final.
West Torrens Birkalla have gained some confidence in the past fortnight with wins over MetroStars and Adelaide Blue Eagles respectively.
The quiet achievers of the league this year, Birkalla have the player stocks to cause an upset, if Campbelltown fail to show them the respect they deserve.
Campbelltown’s tight defence will need to keep watch of Birkalla’s strike force led by Fuymia Suzuki (15 goals this season) and Paul Radice. Both know how to find the back of the net with their sublime skills.
Birkalla young gun, sixteen-year-old Ryan Yates has been a revelation in the middle of the park. His prowess and poise on the ball is that of one beyond his years. His clash with Campbelltown’s midfield dynamo Keita Minomura will be a highlight of the match.
