Redlands United booked their place in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals for a second straight year with a convincing 3-0 win over Brisbane Roar Youth at Cleveland Showgrounds.

For Young Roar, the result concludes an underwhelming close to their PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2016 season – posting just one win since the start of July.

Young Roar will now turn their focus to the upcoming Foxtel National Youth League campaign, while Redlands will prepare to face Brisbane Strikers in the Finals.

Sunshine Coast FC 2 (Alexander WARRILOW 54’, Paul MIKULA 83’)
Gold Coast City FC 5 (Fraser ELLER 41’, Nikola MIRKOVIC 56’, Benjamin LITFIN 62’ 81’, Mory KONE 89’)

Gold Coast City have prepared for the upcoming PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals with a solid 5-2 win over a ten-man Sunshine Coast FC at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

City’s third straight win moves them into second place on the league table – a point ahead of FNQ Heat, who will face City in next weekend’s Semi-Final.

Benjamin Litfin’s double for City also saw him in the season on top of the competition’s scoring charts with 19 goals.

Brisbane Strikers FC 1 (Trent CLULOW 68’)
Brisbane City FC 1 (Samuel SIBATUARA p.77’)

Brisbane City’s dream of a return to the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals is over after drawing 1-1 with Brisbane Strikers at Perry Park.

The result marks the second time City have drawn Strikers this season but leaves John Kosmina’s side two points adrift of fourth-place.

Strikers will host Redlands United next weekend in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Semi Finals.

Moreton Bay United FC 1 (Royce BROWNLIE 60’)
Northern Fury FC 1 (George DALTON 17’)

A second half equaliser from Moreton Bay United has consigned Northern Fury to their first ever winless season after they drew 1-1 at Wolter Park.

The result puts an end to the worst season in Fury’s four-year history in the national second tier – the Townsville club taking just four points over the 22 match campaign.

For Jets, the result also concludes a disappointing defense of last year's breakthrough title win. Their seventh place finish marks the first time they have ended a season in the bottom half of the table.

FNQ FC Heat 0
SWQ Thunder FC 2 (Thomas FANNING 12’, Jackson HAUSSLER 90+3’)

FNQ Heat have concluded the home-and-away season in third place after being stunned 2-0 by SWQ Thunder at Barlow Park.

The result sees Thunder become the first club to record a league double against the high-flying Heat this season and marks their first ever win in Cairns.

Heat are now winless in their past three matches and will seek to regroup ahead of next week’s Semi-Final against second-placed Gold Coast City.

Olympic FC 2 (Daniel BYRNE 5’, Linden FARR 69’)
Western Pride FC 3 (Joseph DUCKWORTH 11’, Shaun CORE 20’, Jacob MINETT 45+1’)

Olympic FC will not compete in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Finals for the first time after suffering a shock 3-2 loss to Western Pride.

The loss consigns Olympic to a sixth place finish – their lowest in the competition’s four-year history, but a remarkable turnaround after sitting second from last midway through the season.

Pride’s third straight win concludes a season-best run to close out the season in tenth for the Ipswich club.
