NTC Star Joins Centre Of Excellence

PlayStation® 4 National Premier Leagues product Rahmat Akbari is in the mix for the next FIFA U-17 World Cup after being selected for an FFA Centre of Excellence scholarship.

Akbari, who scored 20 goals in last season’s U18 Boys competition, has relocated to Canberra where he will be closely mentored by Joeys coach Tony Vidmar.

City Not Panicking Ahead Of Fury Clash

Brisbane City striker Antonio Murray says his team are not panicking as they prepare for their clash against Northern Fury in Ingham on Saturday night.

City succumbed to their second straight defeat last weekend, falling 1-0 to FNQ Heat following a disappointing 4-2 loss in Ipswich against Pride the week prior.

However, City were far from outclassed by the league-leading Heat - a point Murray said was emphasised by coach John Kosmina post-match.

Mundy's Olympic Optimism

Matt Mundy's career is littered with success but the Olympic FC defender says it’s a very different feeling not being near the top of the table.

The central defender's resume boasts Championship and Premiership titles in the Hyundai A-League with Brisbane Roar in 2011, as well as the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland double in 2013 with Olympic.

However, these achievements seem like a distant memory at the moment, with Olympic recording just a single victory to start 2016 and currently in the midst of the club’s worst losing streak since entering PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues.

Clean sheet key to Usai's Fire revenge

Brisbane Strikers goalkeeper Sebastian Usai is out for a third straight clean sheet – and revenge! – against a Sunshine Coast FC side that denied him a Queensland State League winner’s medal.

Usai returned to Strikers this season following a stint with North Queensland Fury in the Hyundai A-League before five injury-ravaged seasons in the United Kingdom that included time with Blackburn Rovers.

He is the first goalkeeper to achieve consecutive clean-sheets in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland this season and said the combination between himself and his defenders continues to blossom.
