Match of the Round

Blacktown City FC v Bonnyrigg White Eagles, 3pm Sunday at Lily’s Football Centre

The reining PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues national champion Blacktown City suffered only one hiccup on its way to a dream season in 2016. Mark Crittenden’s side has been spurred on by its 2-0 grand final loss to Bonnyrigg and is out to make amends on Sunday.

Bonnyrigg goes into the match with only one loss from its first four games and will be a hard customer for an undefeated Blacktown City side.

Will emotion get the better of Blacktown? Or will the Seven Hills side continue its electric start to the season? All will be revealed on Sunday.

Saturday

Sutherland Sharks v Parramatta FC, 6.30pm Saturday at Seymour Shaw

After two consecutive losses Parramatta FC and Sutherland Sharks will be both determined to return to the winners circle when the two sides go head to head on Saturday.

Sutherland were unlucky to come away from its Round 3 clash with Sydney Olympic empty handed after 90 minutes of exciting attacking football.

Parramatta will want to gets its season back on track after two big defeats despite a promising start to its campaign.

It’s sure to be an exciting fixture.

Blacktown Spartans v Rockdale City Suns, 7pm Saturday at Blacktown Football Park

Blacktown Spartan’s poor form at home has been a big sticking point for Ben De Haan’s young side.

The Spartans will be out to stop the run of home defeats when a fired up Rockdale City Suns come to Blacktown Football Park.

Confidence among the Blacktown Players is high after last week’s 2-1 win in Wollongong while Rockdale will try and bounce back from its 2-0 loss to Sydney United 58.

Sunday

Manly United v Hakoah Sydney City East, 3pm Sunday at Cromer Park

Last week’s comprehensive 5-1 thrashing of Parramatta FC has kickstarted Manly’s season and this round Paul Dee’s team are determined to keep its winning form alive against competition new boys Hakoah Sydney City East.

Hakoah has proven themselves as tough competitors this season and it will not be an easy task for Manly.

Keep an eye on young Manly striker Dejan Pandurevic who has impressed so far this season.

Sydney United 58 FC v Sydney Olympic FC, 4pm Sunday at Sydney United Sports Centre

Sydney Olympic and Sydney United 58 will renew its traditional rivalry this weekend when the two sides face off on Sunday.

Despite a narrow Round 1 loss to Blacktown City, United 58 has been firing on all cylinders on its way to three straight wins.

Sydney Olympic has proven they will be a dark horse this season despite a large turnover of players in the offseason.

It is a match which is sure to go down to the wire.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers v Wollongong Wolves, 4.30pm at Lambert Park

It took APIA three weeks to claim its first win of the season but John Carnevale’s men are starting to find their form.

The Lambert Park side return home this week to face off against Wollongong in the last match of Round 5.

Wollongong has had a tough few weeks since its Round 1 win against Hakoah Sydney City East despite playing attractive counter attacking football.

Former Newcastle Jets recruit Themba Muata-Marlow has been an impeccable singing for APIA so far and will once again play a major role if the Tigers are to triumph.
