PS4 NPL NSW Round 3 Preview

Round 3 will feature five sides out to continue their undefeated start to the PlayStation®4 NPL NSW competition when play gets underway on Good Friday.

It will be a football fiesta this Easter long weekend with four days of PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s matches.

This week’s match of the round will feature the attacking firepower of APIA Leichhardt and reigning PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s Champions Bonnyrigg White Eagles at Lambert Park.

Match of the Round

APIA Leichhardt Tigers v Bonnyrigg White Eagles, 4.30pm Friday at Lambert Park

It has been a less than ideal start to the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s season for APIA and the pressure will be on when Bonnyrigg comes to town.

Despite making a number of big signings this season, the Tigers have only scored one goal from its first two matches.

Coach John Carnevale will be asking for a lot more from his highly touted outfit if they are to pose a threat to a solid White Eagles defence.

Bonnyrigg will be desperate for improvement in Round 3 after it succumbed to a shock loss at the hands of Blacktown Spartans in Round 2 but will welcome back Nikola Zonjic.

This game has the potential for being an early match of the season contender.

Manly United FC v Parramatta FC, 7pm Friday at Cromer Park

Parramatta FC has been the surprise packet of the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition after the first two rounds.

Franco Consentino’s side will be out to continue that run when they travel to Manly on Friday.

Parramatta were unlucky in Round 2 against APIA but proved they are a much improved outfit to last season’s side which only narrowly avoided relegation.

Manly have started slowly so far this season but have flashed moments of brilliance.

The form of United’s Brendan Cholakian and Dejan Pandurevic could play a deciding factor.

Blacktown Spartans v Hakoah Sydney City East, 7pm Saturday at Blacktown Football Park

A shock 2-1 win away from home last week against reigning PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s champions Bonnyrigg White Eagles was an impressive return to form for Ben De Haan’s Blacktown Spartans side.

This week the Spartans will be out to make it two wins in a row when they take on competition new boys Hakoah Sydney City East.

Hakoah has impressed in its first two matches and will be determined to notch their first win in the top flight.

If Blacktown aren't at their best this match could easily result in an upset.

Blacktown City FC v Sydney Olympic, 3pm Sunday at Lily’s Football Centre

Blacktown City showcased last week why they are the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues Champions with an incredible 4-3 win against Sutherland sharks.

It has been two weeks of herculean fightbacks from Mark Crittenden’s side but the experienced head coach would be disappointed his side has started so poorly in each of its first two games.

Sydney Olympic is the latest challenge and could be a stumbling block for Blacktown City if they are not careful.

Rockdale City Suns v Wollongong Wolves FC, 5pm Sunday at Ilinden Sports Centre

Paul Reid’s Rockdale City Suns side have made a solid start to the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition and will be out to continue their unbeaten run against Wollongong on Sunday.

Wollongong displayed plenty of heart to nearly snatch a draw against Sydney United 58 last week and will be fired up after the 2-1 loss.

Rockdale is a team to watch this season and a win against Wollongong will only reinforce their premiership credentials.

Sydney United 58 FC v Sutherland Sharks, 5pm Monday at Sydney United Sports Centre

Monday’s clash at Sydney United Sports Centre has the potential for plenty of goals.

Sutherland has been the entertainers of the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition after two rounds and it will be no different for Carlos Villazon’s side against Sydney United 58.

With a win under their belt after last week’s 2-1 victory against Wollongong, Sydney United 58 are brimming with confidence.

An in form Panni Nikas will be one to watch in what is sure to be an exciting matchup.
