PS4 NPL Capital Football 2015 Preview

The PlayStation 4 NPL Capital Football season is shaping as one of the most hotly contested in years as it also features a new team to the competition.

Capital Football resumes this season with some big changes! Gungahlin United have stepped up to the capital’s elite men’s competition and recruited strongly as they look to take the title at the first attempt, enticing some of the region’s most promising talent to the north of the city.

Current Grand Final winners Belconnen United will be tough to beat again, despite several players seeking pastures new, as will League Champions Cooma Tigers who have bolstered their title winning squad and look to have a potent attack once more.

With traditional powerhouses Canberra FC and Canberra Olympic also heavily adding to their rosters in the off-season in an attempt to wrestle back the silverware both have held in recent seasons, the race for the top four will be a close run thing.

2014 FFA Cup qualifiers Tuggeranong United are certainly in that mix, but have seen some changes in personnel with some of their more experienced players joining Monaro Panthers who are under new management and confident of success. Also under new leadership is the newly merged Woden-Weston FC, an amalgamation of Woden Valley and Weston-Molonglo FC, who will aim to upset the apple-cart in their first endeavour in the NPL as an entity.

The always strong FFA Centre of Excellence (FFA COE) complete the picture in Canberra with a new influx of potential future Socceroos strutting their stuff as they begin their football education.
