BLUFFER’S GUIDE
Can anybody stop the Bayswater City juggernaut?
Unbeaten in the Western Australia PS4 NPL season, Chris Coyne’s side did it again last Sunday to make it to the last four of the national NPL competition.
Trailing West Adelaide for much of the game, two goals in three second half minutes via David Heagney and Danny Dixon turned the result on its head.
Now back on their home turf City will see this as the perfect opportunity to make the national decider.
But what a great story Olympia FC are proving to be!
Expected to be swatted aside by South Melbourne last weekend, the plucky Tasmanians had other ideas, grinding out a 2-1 win.
The fact they did it with 10 men for most of the second half only added further weight to their stunning performance.
Gun midfielder Shae Hickey was the player who received that red card and is a huge loss for the visitors but they are drawing inspiration from the MetroStars of 2014 and believe they can go all the way by playing away.
You’d be foolish to write Glen McNeill’s troops off in what should be an utterly enthralling contest in the west.
