Adelaide United has supplemented its Westfield W-League squad with the signings of a trio of talented South Australians - goalkeeper, Inana Toovey, and midfielders, Abbey Burns and Lara Kirkby - for the Westfield W-League 2020/21 season.
Toovey and Burns both arrive from Football South Australia NTC and featured in 13 and 14 games, respectively, in the NPL Women's South Australia 2020 season.
Meanwhile, Kirkby spent the NPLW SA season with West Adelaide, amassing 16 games and scoring two goals in all competitions.
Kirkby also played two matches for the Reds during the 2018/19 season, making her Westfield W-League debut against Brisbane Roar.
Adelaide United’s Westfield W-League Head Coach, Adrian Stenta, told adelaideunited.com.au, “It’s great that Inana, Abbey, and Lara have been added to the squad.
“They’ve impressed throughout our optional pre-season training sessions and have been rewarded for their hard work and commitment to their development and the team as a whole.”
Adelaide United’s Head of Women’s Football, Ivan Karlović, said, “We’re delighted to have signed these three girls for the 2020/21 season.
“Inana, Abbey, and Lara enjoyed solid seasons in the local NPLW this year with their respective clubs and their signings signify the strong football pathway in South Australia.”
The Reds begin their campaign on the road against Canberra United on Wednesday, 30 December.
