NPLSA Finals on hold due to Covid-19

Football South Australia have announced the National Premier Leagues South Australia Finals Series has been suspended for a minimum of two weeks.

The announcement comes in response to an outbreak of COVID-19 in Adelaide in recent days that has prompted local authorities to limit community sport activities on health grounds.

Football South Australia issued the following statement on their website on Tuesday:

"Following this afternoon’s press conference held with the Premier Steven Marshall, SA Health and SAPOL we have been advised that all community sport is temporarily suspended as of midnight tonight for a minimum of two weeks.

Football South Australia has suspended all internal training effective immediately. The NPL, State League 1 and 2 Finals Series is suspended in line with directions along with the Grand Final Breakfast scheduled for Thursday 26 November. We will continue to monitor the situation and work with relevant authorities and take advice.

We will continue to update the football community as information comes to hand."

The NPL SA Finals Series was due to deliver its penultimate fixture this Friday night with a Preliminary Final between Campbelltown City and Adelaide City.

The winner was then scheduled to meet newly-crowned NPL SA Premiers Adelaide Comets at Coopers Stadium the following week in the NPL SA Grand Final 2020.
