Rockdale City Suns have become the first team to beat Wollongong Wolves this season after a dramatic clash at WIN Stadium on Saturday.
Former Sydney FC striker Alek Urosevski scored the only goal of the match just after the half hour mark to continue Rockdale’s stunning rise up the ladder.
On the back of five straight wins, the Suns are now second and just two points behind the Wolves.
Elsewhere, Blacktown City edged out Marconi Stallions 1-0 while a late Chris Payne goal earned APIA Leichhardt a 1-1 draw with Manly United.

Victoria
Avondale have preserved their unbeaten start to the season after playing out an enthralling 1-1 draw with Heidelberg United on Saturday night.
Both goals were scored in the first half, with neither side able to muster a winner in an entertaining second stanza at Olympic Village as Avondale maintained their six point lead at the top.
Elsewhere, Bentleigh Greens moved up to third spot with a 3-2 win over Port Melbourne Sharks and Dandenong City picked up just their second win of the campaign, defeating Kingston City 2-0.

Western Australia
Perth SC’s grip on the top of the table shows no sign of loosening after another clinical display on Saturday, beating Armadale 3-1.
Despite having Nicolo Sabatini sent off, the Azzurri held on for the victory thanks to goals to Matthew Milenkovic, Michael Domfeh and Kristan Santich.
Their lead at the top has been extended to six points after Perth Glory were held to a 1-1 draw by Cockburn City.
In other results, Floreat made light work of second bottom ECU Joondalup scoring all their goals in the first half in a 3-0 win, while Rockingham City and Bayswater City played out a 2-2 draw.

Northern NSW
Broadmeadow Magic landed the killer blow in the top-of-the-table clash with Lambton Jaffas, prevailing 1-0 at Magic Park on Sunday.
In an end-to-end encounter between two side’s sure to feature prominently in the finals, Matt Hoole’s deflected shot midway through the first-half proved the difference.
Elsewhere, Edgeworth Eagles moved into second spot with a 3-1 win over Valentine Phoenix, while Newcastle Jets Youth won away at Adamstown Rosebud 1-0.

Capital Football
Canberra Olympic slumped to a shock home loss against Monaro Panthers in the ACT on the weekend, and it was a former player of theirs that did the damage.
Ex-Olympic star Josh Gulevski scored a double as the Panthers surged to a 3-1 win on Sunday afternoon.
In other results, there were big wins for Tigers FC and Canberra FC, who both ran out 4-1 winners over Riverina Rhinos and Woden-Weston respectively.

South Australia
The Adelaide Comets made the biggest statement of the weekend in South Australia, crushing Adelaide City 5-0 at Jack Smith Park.
Andreas Wiens and Allan Welsh both scored doubles for the home side, who are in second spot and just one point behind leaders Adelaide Blue Eagles.
The Blue Eagles stayed first after edging past Raiders 1-0, while defending champions Campbelltown City won a five-goal thriller 3-2 over Croydon Kings.

Another week, another win for Peninsula Power in the Queensland NPL.
The Power made it 14 from 14 this season with a hard-earned 3-1 win over Moreton Bay United at AJ Kelly Park on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Olympic FC and Gold Coast Knights were involved in a 3-3 classic, While Brisbane Roar FC crushed Magpies Crusaders 7-1.
