NPL wrap: Suns continue to rise in NSW, six-goal thriller in Tassie

Rockdale City Suns have surged into the NSW NPL top-five on the back of a fourth straight league win over the weekend.

The Suns overcame Manly United 2-1 thanks to goals from Jordan Figon and Sasa Macura to jump up to fourth spot, a far cry from where they were little more than a month ago, when former coach Paul Reid was sacked for poor results.

Rockdale have won six matches since Nick Porecca took charge and are one of the form teams of the league.

Elsewhere, Wollongong Wolves maintained their spot at the top with a 4-0 drubbing of Blacktown City – with Thomas James scoring twice – while Sydney Olympic beat Marconi Stallions 3-1 and APIA Leichhardt overcame Sydney FC by the same score.

A 10-man Olympia Warriors scored in stoppage-time to snatch a 3-3 draw with South Hobart in the top-of-the-table clash in Tasmania over the weekend.

But Hobart were unable to hold on to their advantage, with Jordan Scott finding the net from a well-worked free-kick to salvage a draw and maintain the Warriors' six-point lead at the top of the ladder.
