NPL preview: Canberra's epic final-day fight for the title

Doff your caps to the draw makers in the nation’s capital – you could hardly have scripted this better.

The NPL Capital Football title is up for grabs for both Canberra Olympic and Tigers FC, who meet each other in a final-round fixture this weekend destined for drama.

DRAW: National Premier Leagues 2019 Finals Series draw revealed

It is advantage Olympic prior to kick off, following their 5-1 win over Riverina Rhinos last Saturday, combined with Tigers’ shock 3-0 defeat to Gungahlin United – a result which saw the FFA Cup Round of 32 representatives relinquish their lead at the summit at the worst time imaginable.

With their rivals two points ahead of them, nothing but a win will do for the team from Cooma.

The Azzurri travel to Armadale on Saturday with a seven-point buffer over Floreat Athena with just three rounds remaining.

Floreat are at home to ECU Joondalup, while Balcatta’s clash with Sorrento should have big ramifications for the finals.
