Newcomers take on Bayswater in QBE Night Series Final

Top-flight newcomers Mandurah City are looking to head into their first ever PS4 NPL WA season with a QBE Night Series title to their name after beating Armadale 3-1 in the semi-finals on Sunday.

The win booked their place in Saturday’s final where they will face last season’s Night Series winners Bayswater City, who beat Sorrento in a 3-1 win also at Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium.

Jordan Pavett put Mandurah City in front in the 50th minute, before substitute Craig Tone equalised for Armadale in the 74th to force the game to penalties.

Mandurah held their nerve in the shoot-out to claim a 3-1 victory from the spot.

Bayswater City kept alive their chances of successfully defending their Night Series title with a hard-fought win over Sorrento.

Borbor Sam gave Bayswater the  lead mid-way through the first half. Sorrento hit back on the hour when Devon Gibson scored an own goal, before former Sorrento winger Jason Mirco regained the lead for Bayswater.

David Heagney made sure of the victory, scoring a third in stoppage time to send Bayswater into a final showdown against Mandurah City.
