Mark Milligan appointed St George FC Head Coach

In massive news that is sure to rock the Football NSW League One competition for 2022 has come the news that historic club St George FC have appointed former Socceroo skipper Mark Milligan as its new Head Coach.

The 36-year-old who represented the Socceroos on 80 occasions as well as playing abroad and starring in the A-League for the likes of Sydney FC, Newcastle Jets, Melbourne Victory and Macarthur FC, this year decided to call time on his playing career in the pursuit of becoming a first team coach.

As well as doing media duties for Paramount and Channel 10 during the 2022 A-League season, Milligan has for quite some time aspired to get into the coaching scene where he has picked up various coaching accreditation badges.

The well admired former Australian footballer will no doubt use this coaching position as a platform to kick off his journey with the hope of managing teams in the A-League and beyond.

Milligan was involved in the coaching setup with English lower league side Southend United and Macarthur FC in various roles.

Milligan replaces Greg King who has picked up a coaching opportunity in the J-League with Yokohama FC.
