By contrast, it was another tough week for South Coast Wolves, who lost their fifth match in six, against Sydney United 58. It was one defeat too many for the likeable and affable Richard Lloyd, who was relieved of his duties in the aftermath of that match.
APIA-Leichhardt Tigers remain the only other winless side in the competition, though the signing of Marc Warren, and the knowledge of others in the pipeline, means that there is cause for optimism at Lambert Park.

Friday
APIA-Leichhardt Tigers 1-3 Sydney Olympic, at Lambert Park
APIA-Leichhardt Tigers' traditional Good Friday encounter did not have the desired ending as they went down 3-1 at home to Sydney Olympic.
It was the second of three home games in a row for Billy McColl's side, who were able to give former Sydney FC left back Warren his debut, with David D'Apuzzo pushing forward into midfield.
Warren made the perfect start, opening the scoring in the second half with a good finish. Unfortunately for Warren and APIA, that was where the wheels fell off.
Evan Kostopoulos equalised for Olympic ten minutes later, before Harris Gaitatzis put them ahead from the spot after APIA 'keeper Andrew Bazi gave away a penalty.
Christopher Godoy-Bascur made sure of the points in the 92' minute to leave APIA winless after six weeks of the season.
Saturday
Bonnyrigg White Eagles 3-0 St George, at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre
Bonnyrigg powered past St George in their Saturday evening match at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre.
St George gave a good account of themselves, as they have in most matches this season, but they were undone by the experience and power of Bonnyrigg in the second half.
Alexander Canak put Bonnyrigg ahead just after the hour mark and from there it was always going to be a struggle for St George.
Robbie Younis scored twice in the final few moments to make the points safe and avoid any late scares for Bonnyrigg.
Sydney United 58 5-1 South Coast Wolves, at Sydney United Sports Centre
Sydney United 58 blew away South Coast Wolves in some style, smashing the visitors 5-1 in a dominant performance.
It was a result that signalled the end of the road for South Coast coach Richard Lloyd, who was sacked after their fifth defeat in six matches.
Sydney United took the lead through Mark Cindric in the 10' minute, before Ante Tomic doubled the lead just three minutes later.
Wolves showed character and determination to hit back, pegging one back two minutes later through Samuel Jacobs, to make the score 2-1 after just 15' minutes.
From there though, Wolves lost control.
Stepjan Paric scored before the break to add a third, before Cindric scored his second in the 75' minute.
Anthony Tomelic added the icing to the cake in the closing minutes.
Sutherland Sharks 3-4 Blacktown City, at Seymour Shaw Park
For the second time in a fortnight, Sutherland threw points away by squandering a lead. In round five they led 2-0 to APIA-Leichhardt and drew 2-2, in round six they led Blacktown City 3-1 at half time and lost 4-3.
Travis Major gave Blacktown City an early lead in the 5' minute, before a Sutherland onslaught put them firmly in control.
Jamie McMaster soon levelled the scores before two goals before half time put the home side well clear. Perry Moustakas in the 40' and Panny Nikas in the 44' put themselves on the scoresheet.
There was little hope for Blacktown City, until Major scored his second with 15' minutes to go. The Blacktown City co-captain has been in fine form in 2014 and drove his team on here with authority.
3-2 became 3-3 when Major completed his hat-trick in the 83' minute, before the impossible became the reality four minutes from time, when Kearyn Baccus converted from the spot to give Blacktown City a remarkable come-from-behind win.
Blacktown Spartans 4-1 Manly United, at Blacktown Football Park
Manly's new coach Paul Dee returned to earth with a bump after his side was humbled 4-1 by league leaders Blacktown Spartans.
Phil Makrys scored a hat-trick of penalties against a Manly side who played most of the second half with ten men after Brendan Cholakian was dismissed in the 55' minute.
By then, Makrys had already converted twice from the spot. Scott Balderson pulled one back just after the hour mark, but David Gullo quickly snuffed out any threat by scoring the third.
Makrys then added his third spot kick to give the scoreline a comprehensive look at full time. Monday
Rockdale City Suns 1-1 Marconi Stallions, at Ilinden Sports Centre
With no matches on Easter Sunday, it was a Monday afternoon fixture to finish things off in round six.
Ilinden Sports Centre hosted Rockdale City v Marconi on a gorgeous spring day in Sydney and after a scrappy start, Marco Sama popped up to put the visiting side ahead.
Former Marconi attacker Tadgh Purcell popped up to string his former team, scoring the equaliser shortly before the break.
Rockdale City was much improved in the second half and had the better of the second 45' minutes.
Sean Symons, Nick Taneski and Purcell all had chances to win the game, but were denied by Marconi keeper James Chronopoulos and also by wayward finishing.
