Football Victoria Announces Game-Changing Broadcast Deal For NPL Victoria in 2019

In a major boost for football fans, Football Victoria (FV) today announced that it has secured a landmark broadcast deal for its National Premier Leagues (NPL) competitions in Victoria.

As part of a three-year deal, the broadcast arrangement will see an extraordinary 574 total matches broadcast, live and free to fans on YouTube and Facebook in 2019. This will include all NPL Victoria men’s matches, all NPL Victoria Women’s, all NPL Victoria Men’s U20 matches and one selected match per week in each of NPL Victoria NPL 2 East and NPL 2 West.

Football Victoria's showpiece matches, the NPL Victoria Grand Final Triple Header, NPL 2 Grand Final, Dockerty Cup semi-finals and final, and Women's State Knock-Out Cup semi-finals and final will also be broadcast live for fans throughout the year.
In addition to the live coverage, participating clubs, coaches and referees will also have access to vision both live and on demand throughout the year for ongoing development and data analysis.

Football Victoria CEO Peter Filopoulos was thrilled to announce the deal.

"This is a game-changer for football and our fans in Victoria," Mr Filopoulos said.

"To broadcast more than 570 live matches is simply unprecedented and will have a transformative effect on the sporting and commercial profile of the NPL competitions and our clubs in particular”.

"We are taking Victoria and our game to a worldwide audience and I’m excited that our top tier male and female competitions will be showcased on the screens and in the pockets of every football fan.

"I am proud that Victoria continues to lead the way in our efforts to promote and grow football broadly and we will continue to evolve this strategy to harness the growing interest in the NPL competitions and provide media platforms for more people to be able to consume the product".

The live broadcast will commence tonight with four matches and one U20 game in NPL Victoria men’s, including the clash between Pascoe Vale FC and Bentleigh Greens which also celebrates the return of Hakeem al-Araibi in Australia.
