Ex-Hyundai A-League star joins Victorian NPL2 club

Former Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar attacker Fahid Ben Khalfallah will continue playing, signing with Victorian NPL2 outfit Nunawading FC on Saturday.

Ben Khalfallah announced his retirement at the end of the recent Hyundai A-League season but has decided to keep playing with the club which currently sits at the bottom of the Victoria East Conference with two wins from 12 games.

The 35-year-old Tunisian arrived in Australia with Melbourne Victory in 2014, helping the club to the Premiership-Championship double in his first season.

He then spent last season in Brisbane with the Roar before hanging up his boots after their Elimination Final defeat to Melbourne City.

“I just want to stop now, I don’t want to play anymore," Khalfallah told Fox Sports after that 2-0 defeat at AAMI Park.

"I enjoyed it, I loved it and that's it. Sometimes it’s time to stop and do something else so we’ll see."

But Nunawading have convinced him to prolong his career a little while longer.
