APIA Stalwart Tynan Diaz calls it a Day

APIA Leichhardt have said farewell to one of its well admired footballers in Tynan Diaz after announcing his retirement from the game.

The news comes after Diaz was involved in APIA’s courageous 2021/2022 FFA Cup run that saw the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s side reach the Quarter-Final stages after famously knocking out A-League outfit the Western Sydney Wanderers in the Round of 16 before bowing out to the Central Coast Mariners.

The 35-year-old will long be remembered for his ability to score quality goals such as the one many witnessed when the club defeated the Wanderers at Leichhardt Oval last December.

“It wasn’t an easy choice but one that had to be made with no regrets,” Diaz stated.

“I want to thank the APIA famiglia, the club sponsors and board who have continually invested their time and money into the club.

“Thank you to our fans for the continued support and passion during games.

“Thank you to the support staff for your endless efforts to enable player performance.

“Thank you to the coaching staff who pushed me to be better and believed in me and our team.

“Thank you to my brothers, my friends, my teammates; we have created incredible memories that will last forever, I appreciate it all and I hope to be involved with the club in the future.”
