Brendon Santalab joins Dandenong City

National Premier Leagues Victoria club Dandenong City have announced the signing of Brendon Santalab following his retirement from the Hyundai A-League.

Santalab finished off his glittering A-League career at Perth Glory, where the side won the Premiership in 2018/19 and reached the Grand Final, ultimately going down to Sydney FC in a penalty shoot-out.

Santalab, 36, played over 130 games in the A-League, with stints at Sydney FC, North Queensland Fury and Western Sydney Wanderers, where he developed a cult hero bond with Wanderers fans.

The forward was part of the AFC Asian Champions League triumph in 2014, and also finished as the club's Golden Boot winner in 2015/16 and 2016/17.

Dandenong City are 13th in the NPLV, with two wins from the opening 13 rounds of the season.

City are coached by former National Soccer League player Ante Moric, who also represented Australia at the 1996 Olympics.
