Blacktown City FC went a step closer to wrapping up the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s Premiership with a win against Sydney FC, however APIA Leichhardt Tigers remain hot on their tail.

The spoils were shared in the big derby clash of the round as Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Sydney United 58 played out a scoreless draw.

It was a similar case during this week’s Match of the Round at Belmore Sports Ground when third placed Sydney Olympic hosted fourth placed Rockdale City Suns.

Match of the Round

Sydney Olympic 0 - Rockdale City Suns 0 at Belmore Sports Ground

A spurned chance from four yards out and a missed penalty has cost Sydney Olympic FC after they were forced to share the spoils in a 0-0 draw with Rockdale City Suns during their PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clash at Belmore Sports Ground on Sunday.

Radovan Pavicevic’s missed penalty in the 30th minute and Niko Tsattalios miss in front of an empty net left Olympic fans ruing what should've been three competition points against their fourth placed rivals.

Olympic controlled proceedings for much of the encounter before a frantic final 15 minutes where both sides traded chances as the match went end to end.

Rockdale will count their lucky stars that they return home with a valuable point in hand as the battle for finals spots heats up over the final six weeks of the competition.

Manly United FC 2 - Parramatta FC 0 at Cromer Park

IT wasn't pretty, but it was job done for Manly United in Saturday night's 2-0 PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition victory against Parramatta FC at Cromer Park.

Dejan Pandurevic’s 23rd minute strike and a 85th minute goal to veteran striker Dylan Macallister was the difference as Manly kept its finals hopes alive with a much needed win.

The away side toiled from start to finish, but at times were chasing shadows with the gulf in class between the two squads obvious.

In the end Manly were just too good as the visitors slumped to a 15th straight game without a win.

It was a tight local derby at Bonnyrigg Sports Ground on Sunday afternoon as the Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Sydney United 58 FC played out an entertaining 0-0 draw in the PlayStation 4 NPL NSW men’s competition.

Both teams were missing influential midfielders with Mun-Soo Gil a late withdrawal for the home side while captain Nick Stavroulakis was missing for United but Mark Rudan's side did give debuts to former Central Coast Mariners defender Michael Neill while ex-Marconi Stallions player Sam Perre made an appearance off the bench.

Blacktown City FC 3 - Sydney FC 1 at Lily’s Football Centre

A Joey Gibbs double helped Blacktown City maintain their lead at the top after the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition with a 3-1 win against Sydney FC at Lily’s Football Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Gibbs opened the scoring early on after steering home a simple tap in and claimed his brace and Blacktown’s third five minutes into the second half with a similarly easy finish at the back post.

Sydney FC had earlier restored parity midway through the first half thanks to a superb Charles Lokolingoy effort but a Mitch Mallia strike on the cusp of half time proved a crucial blow to the Sky Blues who were unable to prevent the hosts from a fifth consecutive win.

Robert Stanton’s side enjoyed decent spells throughout the match against a heavily rotated Blacktown City outfit but were undone by the ruthlessness of City’s forwards with Mallia and Gibbs in particularly lethal form.
