An Eli Vlassis winner gave an improved West Adelaide the three points in their 2-1 triumph over Adelaide United in Round 17 of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League at Adelaide Shores Football Centre on Saturday.

The West Adelaide that we have seen in recent weeks came out firing in the second half, as Tom Briscoe scored the equaliser, despite the Reds taking lead through Blake Carpenter in the early minutes of the game.

A late winner from captain, Vlassis, secured the vital three points for the home side, further concreting their place in the top six.

Adelaide United were fired up for their clash with the Blue and Whites, gaining ascendency early.

Reds’ captain, Josh Mori delivered a beautifully-weighted cross into the penalty area, where Carpenter caught a deflection to slot into the back of the net past Lewis Moss for the lead in the 3rd minute.
