Finals Series Week 2 Wrap: Adelaide City vs. Campbelltown City (4-1 agg)

In a game of two halves, the Play Station 4 National Premier League South Australia Premiers Adelaide City booked their place in the 2016 Grand final with a hard fought 2-1 victory over a very spirited Campbelltown City, at Adelaide City Park in the Major Semi-Final Second Leg.

It was a sluggish start by the hosts as Campbelltown came out to play from the kick off, which caused some angst in City’s coaches box. And it took a second half brace by substitute Mamadi Kamara to seal the contest for the Black & Whites, after Anthony Ture put Campbelltown ahead in the first half.

It was a shaky start by City in the first 35 minutes, as Campbelltown took complete control of proceedings through the middle of the park, forcing City to defend deep.

Campbelltown’s Kieta Minomura was the dominant playmaker on the ground, creating numerous forward forays that put the City defence under enormous pressure. Mathew Halliday and Paul Blefari, solid as to be expected, repelled the early onslaught.
